Is there anything that can be used to cover metal edging in the yard? I want to protect my dogs from it.?

I have metal edging in my yard around what used to be a lawn. The lawn died and we had the old soil removed. The metal edging is now exposed and we don’t plan to replace the lawn until next year. In the meantime, I have two dogs who run around the yard, and I don’t want them to land hard on the edging and cut themselves. Is there some sort of flexible plastic or something else that I can put on top of the edging to soften the edges so that my dogs don’t hurt themselves? I’m looking for something plastic (and not foam) that will stay during the rain.

take an old garden hose,cut one side lenthwise,thenslip over top of edging.that should work.or you can buy 1/4 in nylon hose pretty cheap at the hardware store,do the same with that.good luck
